Today's picture of the day was not just a picture, it was me going back to the first scientific experiment that made me feel like a scientist again.

Creating the rainbow 🌈

The rainbow today is associated with many things. Some people use it to denote diversity and freedom. Some use it as a symbol of hope and peace.

But I love what God who invented the rainbow intended it to be. The rainbow God says is a token that He will not again destroy the world with a flood again.

The question I ask tho is but won't God destroy this world with fire next time?
Not with a flood yes, but with a lake of Fire?

So the rainbow is an expression of Gods mercy, but it's not a licence for us to normalized sin. It was water last time "buts it's going to be fire next time," says the song.

And it boils down to the science experiment. For you to create a rainbow you need two elements, you need water and sunlight. In the experiment, I used a glass to reflect the rainbow that gets created.

This is the same with God. He is merciful but he is just. One cannot exist without the other. Here is a cool quote about this
The cross is a perfect illustration for this. You can say God is love because He gave his only begotten Son, but also God is just because like Isaiah says, God, laid on Jesus, the iniquity of us all. I don't think there is any higher science than this.

“The rainbow spanning the heavens with its arch of light is a token of “the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature.” Genesis 9:16. And the rainbow encircling the throne on high is also a token to God’s children of His covenant of peace. Ed 115.1

As the bow in the cloud results from the union of sunshine and shower, so the bow above God’s throne represents the union of His mercy and His justice. To the sinful but repentant soul God says, Live thou; “I have found a ransom.” Job 33:24. Ed 115.2

“As I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” Isaiah 54:9, 10. Ed 115.3 “
